What does Oppo think of the refreshed SN-95 Mustangs?
If any owners could chime in as to their reliability, fuel consumption, fun factor, etc, that'd be great as well.

I REALLY liked the way there mustangs looked. I dont know why, but I really really do.
however. int is typical late 90's early 2000s ford and the motors werent as bad as the SN-95, but still not massively brilliant. If it wasnt for the insurance costs in my area I think I would get one.

I've always really liked them, but I've never understood the massive fake side scoops on mustangs.

My mum owns a 2000 V6 convertible with a manual and it seems reliable enough. Then again, it's been driven under 70,000 kilometres in the fourteen years she's owned it, so maybe it's not a perfect example. The only thing is that the A/C needs to be turned off if you're in fifth gear and want to go up a hill.

I love them and one day will get a 03/04 Cobra convertible.

Better looking in every way than the pre-refresh version, which I honestly think is borderline offensively boring.

The original prototype was rear engined and fiberglass, so that carried over... in the form of a usually fake brake duct. It's been an essential *this is a Mustang* styling indicator from the beginning.

They're good cars, my Grandfather has an '00 Vert I think. It's not fast, but it sounds nice.

Had a 2000 V6. With all its problems, I still kinda enjoyed the car. Highly looking forward to diminishing values on the New Edges so I can pick up a GT on the cheap.
We almost had a 2002 GT. Leather, auto (ugh), gunmetal grey with Cobra wheels. Was well taken care of. Financing fell through and we ended up with a Focus (also ugh). Saw the car a few weeks later, scratched up and hooned within an inch of its life. My wife cried.

I think if I were to buy a Mustang this gen would be it. I like the Fox Body more, but the asking prices on reasonable ones are just stupid.

Terminators are the best looking Mustangs.

I see too many of them and I hate them. They don't look like a Mustang to me. Kind of like the early 2000s Camaro.

Ehh, I prefer a 98-02 Camaro over the mustang in terms of looks. Especially in SS form. I have a 98 SS and the LS1 has been flawless. Really only problem I've had is my original clutch master cylinder went out last week.

They look the best with non-chrome wheels, no spoiler, and less fender gap.

I'm not saying I don't like em, the Mach 1 was a cool mustang, never was a termi fan.

The special ones (Mach 1, Cobra etc.) are awesome, the GT can be made to be fun and the V6 is meh.

Little biased but...

I love them!
Reliability? Well, I've needed to get stuff done. The car has never broken down on me before. Though the Mach 1 does require premium fuel. I just had an issue where the car acted up and felt really strange. I have a feeling that was just some bad gas because it's back to normal now. Everything else is just common wear you'll see in any car.
Fuel economy? Lol.
The car is lots of fun, to much fun. The V8 sounds awesome, can't get enough of it. It's even fun in the corners with stock suspension.
Overall, I love it. Sure, it's a little rough for some people, but it's that raw feeling that makes it fun. Fuel economy hasn't been great lately. I blame the cold weather, it takes awhile for the engine to warm up so I sit idling a lot of the time.
Kinja isn't letting me post photos, of course. If you have other questions let me know.

I have an 04 GT as seen in my sig pic. Love the thing. It sounds great, spins the tires on command and the 2V 4.6L V8 is bulletproof. I honestly think they are some of the best looking mustangs ever made specially with the Mach chin spoiler and grill delete. It's not all that fast but it sounds fantastic and can get out of its own way no problem. Go for the manual for sure.
The interior admittedly leaves something to be desired and the seats aren't the best but other than that I don't have any complaints.
If I try hard I can get upwards of 25 MPG on the highway which I think is decent for a V8 dreamed up in the 90's.
Did I mention they sound amazing?

I went from being a jdm fanboy a few years ago to buying the mustang I have now because of a red GT with 4.10 gears and a sick exhaust. Never would even give one a second glance but a spirited drive convinced me that, while the supra I had at the time was a decent car, a hot blooded souped-up GT is a magical thing.

Not new edge, but I have a 98 V6 SN95
Fuel Consumption: Very good, even with 3.73 gears.
Fun Factor: Mine currently has Poly bushings and a 3.73 LSD, and is very fun to drive. Oversteers very easily and oversteers at the limit. I do a lot of burnouts, donuts and drifting because tires are cheap.
Reliability: Drive it hard daily. No issues. Very reliable. Only issue is the noisy TOB.
Exterior: Ugly.
Interior: Decent.
Conclusion: Cheap, fun and reliable.
